The Undrowned Child book reveiw

~Teodora is an orphan who's only longing is to go to Venice.

Her adoptive parents always make excuses. Then one day when  she persuades her scientist family to take her to Venice she  feels she is coming home.

Teo(dora) loves reading and old bookshops and when  she is at one, a

book falls on her head, the old shop keeper gives her the book for free, it is  called The Key to the Secret City. The books description is : hallo Teodora...  (I do  not  remember  the full description)

When Teo has a headache and starts "seeing" things( : statues talking) her parents ask a doctor to come who takes her to a hospital to stay over night. She wakes up to find herself in a graveyard with no memory of how she got there. When she reaches  the hotel that she is staying at she realises nobody can see her. The book (she has it with her)starts writing to her and showing her around Venice. She thinks she is a ghost but is still  a bit warm. Later on she realises: a.children and animals can see her   b.things(that)she touches turn  invisible to.

She becomes friends with (Lo)Renzo whom she shares The Key
to the Secret City. Together they go to The House of Spirits and
find out about the mermaids who own printing presses which pr-
int notes saying not to trust the mayor who encourages tourists
to come to Venice all though things are troubling.

Teos parents are friends  with other scientists whom came with
them and brought there daughter Maria with them, Teodora and
Maria hate each other. Maria is really, really, really, really, really
vain. Teo catches her with a teenage boy Teo suspects is evil, he h-
as a suspicious mole on his forehead. And Teo sees he has given
Maria an emerald  earring and that is Bajamonte Tiepolo otherwise
known as Il Traditore's (there main baddie\villain\enemy. He is a ghost.)
"colour".

Bajamonte Tiepolo was banished from Venice for his crimes against Her in 1310, but his ghost is back for revenge and he is building a fierce-some army of pirates, ghosts, vampire eels and a sea monster who can destroy the city of water.

I would have liked to copy and paste the ancient prophecy but nobody has posted it on to a website.

I will continue this review after I have read The Undrowned Child again.

Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets

Harry Potter has had a strange enough first year but his second one is stranger and there is bigger mystery to solve..

The Dursleys were so mean and hideous that summer.

Just as he's packing his bags, Harry receives a warning from a strange, impish creature (a house elf)named Dobby who says that if Harry Potter returns to Hogwarts, disaster will strike. And it does.

Who - or what - is turning the young wizards and witches to stone and what is this strange, blank book that absorbs ink, whose is it? Is it good? Or bad?

The person that wrote the blurb wrote : Rowling packs this tale with plenty of adventure and action, keeping the pace fast and furious. There's plenty of humor, too - both subtle and bold - as well as a few moral lessons. With overlapping themes that range from the simple to the sophisticated, Rowling's Potter tales should appeal to readers of all ages - the young as well as the young at heart.

Eragon by Christopher Paolini

The story takes place in an imaginary place called AlagaƩsia and other places like Hadarac Desert, Beor Mountains and Surda.

The main character is a poor orphan boy who lives with his uncle and has to go hunting for food. His name is Eragon and he is helpful, friendly and loving.

On a 3 to 8 day hunting trip Eragon finds a smooth, hollow, and oval stone.

But when the stone produces a baby dragon Eragon does not know what he is in for, starting with the silver mark that makes one a Dragon Rider.

This is what is different from Riders and normal humans :

                                                         Dragon Riders

1.They can live for hundreds of years.
2.They have dragons(Eragons dragons name is Saphire)obviously.
3.They have magic.

                                                 Humans

1.They live shorter.
2.Some do not even believe in dragons.
3.Some do not even believe in magic.

Character names and what they are like:

1.Brom:Oldwise,clever and thought full.
2.Saphire(the dragon):Clever,funny and a good hunter.
3.Arya(a very famous elf):Very good at magic and sword fighting and is also wise.

Black Beauty by Anna Sewell

Sometimes the book is very sad but I am happy that the end is happy. A few people die in it and horses die in it but you don't really feel sorry for them. I am sad about how they treat horses and just the person who wrote the foreword said, from now on after you've read the book, and you see a house at the top of a hill, you might imagine how the horses had to carry heavy bricks to the top of the hill. And maybe they weren't driven very well.

The part I liked most in the book was when Black Beauty had to drive his master to the doctors because his mistress was ill and he saved her life. I also liked another part from one of the people died but I won't go into detail about that. The other part that I liked was when Black Beauty senses that the bridge is broken and doesn't go any further in the dark.

One of my favourite characters in the book is a horse called Merry Legs. He was so cheerful and happy. I also liked one of Black Beauty's masters called Jerry because he was very kind to horses.

I think Anna Sewell was very honest about how they treated horses. She told the truth about how badly horses were treated.
